The T3 business climate survey asks company representatives from the bicycle industry based in Germany to assess their current business situation. The assessment is based on the 3 possible answers: good, average or poor. The business climate can therefore range from -100 to +100, i.e. when all the companies surveyed either exclusively state ‘poor’ or exclusively ‘good’. Each answer good/medium/bad is scored +100/0/-100. The green line in the graph below shows the results.

In a second question, the company representatives are asked to assess their future business situation based on their expectations for the next 6 months. They can decide whether their business situation is likely to become more favourable, remain as is, or is likely to become less favourable in 6 months’ time. Each answer: more favourable/more likely to remain the same/more likely to become less favourable is rated +100/0/-100; and the business climate can change accordingly. The grey line in the graph below shows the results.

In addition, representatives of the bicycle industry provide information on their stock levels, i.e. whether their stocks are too high, satisfactory (seasonal) or too low. This information is only provided by manufacturers and dealers, but not by service providers. The bar chart below shows the development of results over time.
